Chinchwad, September 5: Don Bosco ITI, Chinchwad, celebrated Teachers’ Day with a programme conducted by the students to honour the contribution of teachers in the lives of young people. The celebration also included the investiture ceremony of class monitors and assistant class monitors of first-year and second-year trades for the academic year 2026–2027.

The programme was organised by the trainees under the guidance of the Prefect of Studies, Fr Bosco. Students took responsibility for planning and conducting the event, which reflected their respect, gratitude, and appreciation for their teachers. The celebration gave the trainees an opportunity to express their feelings through speeches, cultural performances, and messages dedicated to the teaching staff.

The Teachers’ Day programme highlighted the important role of teachers in shaping the character, discipline, skills, and future of students. The trainees acknowledged the efforts of their instructors and staff members in guiding them not only in technical training but also in personal development, workplace behaviour, and career preparation.

As part of the same programme, the investiture ceremony of class monitors and assistant class monitors was conducted for the first-year and second-year trades. The selected trainees were entrusted with the responsibility of supporting discipline, communication, coordination, and regular class activities during the academic year.

Rector Fr Shekar Mariadas of Don Bosco Chinchwad congratulated the newly appointed class monitors and assistant class monitors. He spoke about the qualities required to be a good leader and highlighted the importance of responsibility, discipline, sincerity, humility, and service in leadership. He also spoke about the important role a teacher plays in the life of a student and reminded the trainees that students must respect their teachers and understand their importance in guiding, shaping, and inspiring them.

The programme helped students understand the value of teamwork and shared responsibility in maintaining a positive learning environment. By conducting the Teachers’ Day celebration and participating in the investiture ceremony, the trainees showed confidence, coordination, and leadership skills.

The event brought together the management, staff members, instructors, and trainees of Don Bosco ITI Chinchwad. It reflected the institute’s effort to encourage student participation, leadership, gratitude, and responsibility along with technical education.
