009 Don Bosco Chinchwad Hosts Interactive Session on Job Opportunities in Germany

Don Bosco Chinchwad recently hosted Iris Becker, Representative of the State of Baden-Wurttemberg (Germany) in Maharashtra, Service Desk for Skill Mobility, and Zubin Kabraji, Manager-Service Desk of Baden-Wurttemberg (Germany) in Maharashtra, courtesy of Tarun Maske, GIZ Advisor. This visit aimed to inspire female students in the EV sector through an interactive session with Iris and Zubin. They highlighted Germany’s renowned automotive industry to motivate the students to explore potential opportunities in the country. The Indo-German Programme for Green Skills, initiated by GIZ and commissioned by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation, focuses on increasing girls' participation in solar and electric vehicle sectors, emphasizing international mobility. This initiative aligns with Don Bosco Chinchwad's mission to provide technical training to students.
Fr Anton D'Souza, the Director, welcomed the guests and shared insights into the institution's role in training students. Mr Chandgude presented student data and job placement statistics, showcasing the program's impact. During the session, Iris and Zubin engaged with the students, encouraging them to consider opportunities in Germany. The speakers discussed Germany’s promising job market in the automotive and renewable energy sectors, emphasizing the importance of understanding German language and culture. Parental support was also highlighted as a key factor in pursuing international opportunities.
The students actively participated, showing enthusiasm and curiosity about job qualifications and requirements. The session covered several key areas, including internship programs that provide hands-on experience in German companies, apprenticeship opportunities that blend theoretical knowledge with practical skills, and a detailed overview of the visa application process. Additionally, the session offered insights into cultural exchange, language training, networking opportunities, and career growth prospects in Germany.
