The Don Bosco Avsar (Job Placement Cell) office was inaugurated at Don Bosco Chinchwad in a solemn and hopeful ceremony attended by staff, students, and well-wishers. The initiative aims to provide structured support for youth employment and career development, a vision closely aligned with the Salesian mission of empowering the young, especially the marginalized.
The inauguration was jointly presided over by Fr. Savio Silveira, Provincial of the Mumbai Province, and Fr. Godfrey D’Souza, former Provincial. During the ceremony, Fr. Godfrey invoked God’s blessings upon the project, praying for its success in reaching and transforming the lives of many young people. The event saw the participation of dignitaries including officials from Knorr-Bremse, the Pune Diocesan SSVP Conference Head, the Sisters of Mother Teresa, local parishioners, staff, and students, all gathered to witness the beginning of a promising new initiative.
The Sisters of Mother Teresa set the tone for the occasion with a soulful and prayerful song, invoking divine blessings upon the new venture. Their presence and contribution added a spiritual dimension to the program, reminding all in attendance of the faith-centered mission of Don Bosco institutions.
Following the blessing ceremony, Ms. Simran Bagul gave a detailed presentation outlining the objectives and activities of Don Bosco Avsar. She emphasized that the platform is designed to enhance the employability of students and young job seekers through structured interventions such as training, career guidance, and placement support. The initiative reflects a proactive step toward addressing the rising need for job-readiness among today’s youth.
Fr. Savio Silveira praised the initiative, expressing his appreciation and support while extending his prayers for the success and sustainability of the project. Fr. Anton D’Souza also shared encouraging words, highlighting the potential of the Don Bosco Avsar App to serve hundreds of youth. He stated that Don Bosco Avsar Chinchwad will host a variety of programs including training sessions, job fairs, campus interviews, and soft skills workshops—all geared toward equipping young people with the competencies required for today’s job market.
In its early days, Don Bosco Avsar Chinchwad has already begun its outreach by conducting campus interviews in collaboration with institutions and companies such as Camp Education Society ITI, Nigdi, TATA Motors, Indian Lifters, and Kalagenset. Additionally, soft skills training sessions were conducted by Schaeffler and Light House, both of which provided students with valuable interpersonal and professional development.
Looking ahead, Don Bosco Avsar has planned further campus interviews for the months of May and June, offering more opportunities for job seekers and continuing its mission to bridge the gap between education and employment.
