Don Bosco, Chinchwad inaugurated Lingua Hub, a language and soft skills development initiative, in the presence of distinguished guests including Mr Arun Bisht and Ms Debanjia Dass from Knorr-Bremse, and Captain Singh of Indian Navy, along with members of the Don Bosco community.
This initiative is a dream project envisioned under the able leadership and pastoral care of Fr Anton D'Souza, Director of Don Bosco, Chinchwad, who has consistently encouraged programmes that empower youth with practical skills for a dynamic and globalised world.
The venture has been introduced with the objective of equipping young people with essential communication and professional skills required in today’s competitive environment. The programme seeks to nurture confidence, clarity of expression, and the ability to present oneself effectively during job interviews, professional interactions, and academic pursuits.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ms Savita H Travis, facilitator of the programme and an experienced educationist, school leader trainer, and teacher trainer, emphasised the growing importance of language proficiency and soft skills in shaping career opportunities. She highlighted that Lingua Hub will help participants strengthen their communication abilities while also preparing aspiring candidates for internationally recognised language assessments that are often required for overseas education and employment opportunities.
“Language is the pulse of meaningful communication and the right approach to communication strengthens relationships and opens doors to global opportunities. When young people learn to articulate their ideas with confidence and clarity, they are better prepared to excel in every sphere of life,” Ms Travis noted during her address.
The Lingua Hub programme has been designed as a short-term intensive course, with each batch accommodating approximately 20 participants to ensure personalised attention and interactive learning. The course will involve two hours of structured training each day, focusing on spoken communication, interview readiness, personality development, and practical language usage.
Apart from benefiting external participants, the initiative has also been introduced to support students currently enrolled at the Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre, helping them refine their communication abilities and become more confident, employable, and future-ready.
Registrations for the upcoming batches have commenced, and the centre anticipates enthusiastic participation from youth, students, and professionals seeking to enhance their communication skills and broaden their career opportunities.
