014 Don Bosco Chinchwad Hosts Blessing Ceremony for Electrician Lab & Refinish Lab

A blessing ceremony was held at Don Bosco Chinchwad to mark the commencement of upgradation works for the Electrician Lab and the furnishing of the Refinish Lab.

The Prayer and Blessing Ceremony was led by Fr Savio Silveira, Provincial, Mumbai Salesian Province. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Mr Pramod Kulkarni, Managing Director, PMR Mud Riggers India Private Limited, Mr Mahesh Chavan, Associate Director, Projects, Seva Sahayog Foundation, Pune. Officials from Mud Riggers, Seva Sahayog, and the Don Bosco Management were also present.

Following the prayer and blessing ceremony, a traditional coconut-breaking ceremony was held to officially mark the commencement of the upgradation works. 

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, PMR Mud Riggers India Pvt. Ltd. has collaborated with Don Bosco ITI Chinchwad to upgrade the Electrician Trade Lab. The project will be executed in two phases:

The company will support the installation of 31 electric panels, aligning with the DGT NSQF Level 4 syllabus. This upgrade will enhance the learning experience for students, providing them with hands-on training on industry-standard equipment. In the second phase, PMR Mud Riggers India Pvt. Ltd. is set to support the purchase of tools and equipment necessary for the ITI syllabus. This will further enrich the learning environment, enabling students to acquire practical skills and knowledge.

Following the blessing of the Electrician Lab, the Provincial, also blessed the new site for the Refinish Trade Lab. It was announced that SSF Partners with Don Bosco Chinchwad to establish a Refinish Trade Lab

The Institute will launch a Month’s Refinish course, specifically designed to empower women in Refinish painting technology within the automobile domain.

Don Bosco Vyawasaik Prashikshan Kendra Chinchwad will serve as the training partner for this Refinish trade. SSF Foundation Pune will mobilize candidates and facilitate placement for trainees upon completion of the course. The course will have a batch size of 25 trainees, spanning 3 months.

This initiative aims to equip women with the skills and knowledge required to excel in the Refinish painting technology, fostering their economic independence and growth.

Fr Anton D'Souza, Director of Don Bosco, expressed his gratitude to Fr Provincial, officials from PMR Mud Riggers, and Seva Sahayog for their partnership. This collaboration aims to establish an advanced Electrician Lab and furnish a Refinish Lab with training facilities at Don Bosco ITI Chinchwad 

The partnership seeks to contribute to the development of skilled professionals in the field by providing state-of-the-art training facilities. The advanced Electrician Lab will enable students to acquire hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment, while the Refinish lab will focus on Refinish painting technology in the automobile domain.
