Chinchwad, August 28, 2026: Don Bosco ITI, Chinchwad, organised a special programme to acknowledge the support received through the Knorr-Bremse Global Care CSR initiative and to distribute certificates to trainees who successfully completed short-term skill development courses. The programme highlighted the importance of skill training, workplace readiness, digital education, and improved student facilities.
As part of the CSR initiative, the newly developed “Swachhta Sadan” ladies’ toilet facility was inaugurated at Don Bosco ITI Chinchwad. Supported by Knorr-Bremse Global Care, the facility has been developed to provide improved sanitation and hygiene facilities for girl students, women staff members, and visitors. The initiative reflects the shared commitment of Don Bosco ITI and Knorr-Bremse towards creating a safe, clean, dignified, and supportive learning environment.
The inaugural programme was attended by Rector/Director Fr. Shekar Mariadas of Don Bosco Chinchwad; Arun Bisht, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Knorr-Bremse; Debanjana Das, CSR Head, Knorr-Bremse; along with volunteers from Knorr-Bremse.

He also presented an update on the computer facilities and digital training programmes being implemented at Don Bosco ITI through the Knorr-Bremse CSR initiative.
The guests interacted with students and staff members and appreciated the institute’s efforts to provide quality skill-based training and student-support facilities. The collaboration was recognised as an important step towards strengthening opportunities for young people, particularly through infrastructure development and digital skill enhancement.
A major highlight of the programme was the distribution of certificates to trainees who successfully completed courses in MS Office, Python Programming, and Adobe Express. The certification recognised the efforts and achievements of the trainees while encouraging them to continue developing their digital, creative, and professional competencies. The courses were designed to strengthen computer literacy, creativity, practical knowledge, and overall job readiness.
The programme also featured an interactive session on employment and career preparation conducted by Anuj Srivastava, R&D Manager at Knorr-Bremse. The speaker guided the trainees on the importance of preparing themselves effectively for employment opportunities and interviews. He emphasised the need to develop confidence, communication skills, discipline, practical knowledge, and a positive attitude to meet workplace expectations and perform successfully in interviews.
The trainees were encouraged to understand the expectations of employers, continuously upgrade their skills, and make effective use of the training, placement, and industry exposure opportunities available to them.
The programme brought together industry representatives, CSR volunteers, institute management, staff members, and trainees, further strengthening the partnership between Don Bosco ITI Chinchwad and Knorr-Bremse. The collaboration demonstrates how meaningful industry–institution partnerships can contribute to youth development by combining infrastructure support with skill-building and career-oriented initiatives.
Don Bosco ITI Chinchwad continues its commitment to preparing young people for the world of work through technical education, digital training, industry exposure, placement support, and value-based guidance.
